Web Hosting Choice

When you're looking for a great hosting site, than you should choose it carefully and wisely, meaning you should do your homework and explore all possible opportunities that are offered to you. Many of you know already that webhosting is available at a lot of hosting providers, but that only means you have options. Options to chose the right one.

My favorite section of the site is the section where they talk about the scams which web hosting providers use just to get more users and to earn more money. I'm glad to see that they have put a warning so you could be aware of this.

Also, I recommend that you read the articles available at WebHostingChoice, because they are great reading material for readers who are not familiar with hosting.

The design of the site is OK, the colors are nice and the layout is pretty decent, the only thing I don't like is the free space on the right side, because it could have been used for site monetization (who knows, maybe that's just the reason it's empty...)

Cool Web 2.0 Tool

I know some of you have noticed that this blog looks a whole lot different than it used to look. Having a great looking and UNIQUE template is half of the work done when making money online, and getting your blog stand out from the crowd... (30 seconds rule - I just made that title up, but will explain it in future posts).

Therefore, I have been trying to create a really nice and clean looking template for this blog, and since I'm not an expert in HTML (read: noob) or any other program language it took me a while to get it to look this way... I'm only missing my tabs - if anyone can help - please do so...

One of the main issues I had with the template was the with the header. I wanted to give it a cool web 2.0 look because this web 2.0 pics look just damn good ;)

Your Inventory Was Accepted - TLA (finally)

Man, I like e-mails that say: "You're about to make money online"!


The e-mail was sent to me from Text Link Ads today in which I was informed that I'm finally accepted into their publisher's program.
Now I'm going to tell you why they accepted my blog into the program...

I joined TLA 4 months ago and have been on the waiting list since. As they say in their control panel "You don't have to resubmit your site, we review all submissions on a monthly basis" - I say - Yeah Right! - My blog had a PR2 and Alexa Rank 90k 2 months ago and I wasn't accepted.

I sent them a letter via their contact form yesterday in which I asked them what's happening with my blog, why it's not accepted and that I seriously doubt that they review their old submissions on a monthly basis and they send me a welcome mail today. To put it mildly - they were lazy...

Don't get me wrong here, I'm glad that I'm finally accepted, but it really took ages...

If you have similar issues with TLA, and you think your site qualifies for an entry in their publishers program I strongly recommend that you also send them a letter and ask them... You might be missing out on some money...

SEO Series Batch 9 - External Linking

SEO Series is back on track and today's topic is about external linking. External linking is another important factor in your SEO optimization. With every external link your blog becomes more and more popular on the web meaning that it gets higher search engine results and more importantly - more traffic.

Even though you can't have an impact on every external link pointing to your blog, you still have a chance of getting some external links to your blog which you CAN control - control the linking (anchor) text, that is.

How to get desired anchor text for your external links:

1. Exchanging links with other bloggers - allows you to ask for desired anchor text
2. Submitting your blog to web directories where you have editorial control and you can specify how your link will look like
3. Getting listed on partner blogs and sites
4. Optimizing your post title - if you use a great title your post can be picked up by someone where you usually get the credit for it + the post title as the anchor text
5. Buying links on other blogs which gives you complete editorial rights and you can specify the desired anchor text.
6. Running a contest on your blog will bring you external links with the anchor text you specify in the contest rules.

After you have done that, your external links depend on the webmasters that post them. The best influence you can have on that is to optimize your post titles in the best possible way.

One last thing, external linking very much depends on your content. With high quality content you will have no problems at all in getting external links.

SEO Series Batch 8 - Google Optimization - Key Factors

Google optimization is one of the most crucial factors for your SEO campaign and making money online. Google is, as you probably know by now, the most powerful search engine today and your SEO very much depends on Google Optimization.

Google Optimization is based on three things:

1. Google Page Rank
2. Google Sand Box
3. Inbound Links

You need to focus on those three factors to make the most from your Google Optimization. What Google values the most are those high-quality inbound links. You can get them by writing articles, buying links and link exchanges. Try to get as much as you can of those one-way text links and by getting that alone, your Page Rank should increase by itself.

On the other hand, you should try to avoid getting caught in the Google Sand Box. The effect of the Google Sand Box is on the new domain names by holding them in a filter. First of all, let me apologize to my regular readers for not posting so often lately, all I can say is that I have been very busy with two of my other jobs lately and I barely had the time to be online. Google Search Privacy - Plain and Simple?

I posted an intriguing video about Google called Google Masterplan last week which focused on the question "Does Google really care about our privacy?".

Now, for comparison, take a look at this video which is the first in series of Google's videos about privacy.
Google talks about what information do they collect when a user is using a Google search engine and the steps they are taking to protect it. They also promised, that in the future posts, they will explain to us why do they keep logs and what information they collect while we are signed into Google.

Try to compare the videos and tell me - who do you trust? Do you trust Google? If not, why are you then using their services? Do you think there is nothing anyone can do against "Googleware"???

SEO Series Batch 6 - Internal Linkinkg

Internal linking is a very important part of every successful search engine optimization. Internal linking basically gives you a chance to add backlinks to your own pages.

Google (the most powerful search engine today) indexes each page as an individual, so you need backlinks to your entire site, it's not enough to build backlinks just to your home page.

You can use each new post that you write on your blog for internal linking. Pay attention to your keywords and keyword phrases about which I have talked earlier in the SEO Series Batch 1.

Optimize your keywords by using anchor texts and make your anchor texts spot on, they have to be on topic and related to the content of the linked post. If you mess up anchor texts, then the whole concept of internal linking loses it's meaning.

Along with adding a sitemap to your blog, internal linking is the most important factor towards a strong and search engine friendly site structure, so try to take advantage of your frequent posting and link to your pages on a regular basis.

Remember, internal linking is a part of every successful SEO story ;)

Social bookmarking is a way of organizing your internet shortcuts. Internet shortcuts can be saved in a form of bookmarks, but often you come across a lot of interesting sites or blogs and they often become a very crowded place.

Social bookmarking sites allow you to save your favorites online using tags. With tags your favorites are automatically easier to find, more accessible and more organized.

5 Essential Blog Elements Which Every Blog Should Have

Blog elements can be called the foundations of every single blog. If you're trying to make money with your blog, you first have to build strong foundations for it.
Try to see it as your own financial fortress - do you build a house from the roof or from the bottom? It's the same with blogging.... When you set your blog elements right, you should have no or very little problems with making money with your blog.

Here's a quick list of blog elements which every blog should have:

1. ABOUT PAGE - Readers usually like to know who is behind the posts. Write about yourself and your interests and tell them why are your post the ones they should read. Also, it's highly recommended that you put your picture on your about page - readers also like to see who is behind the posts - chose a picture with a smile on your face ;) - You can expect my picture soon :)

2. CONTACT PAGE - Just remember how many times you contacted someone with your questions and queries. As a blogger, you have to make time for your readers. Having a contact page makes it easier for your readers to get in touch with you.

3. SUBSCRIBE BUTTON - Allow your readers to grab your site's feed. Place the button on the top of your page so it's easy accessible. You can also encourage your readers to subscribe to your feed at the beginning or the end of each post (or in the post ;) - subscribe to MMWK)

4. CATEGORIES (LABELS) - Makes the blogging experience on your blog a whole lot easier and comfortable. Categories make it easier for readers to browse through your blog.

5. SEARCH BOX - Always have a search box on your blog. When a reader wants to find something on your blog, the search box takes him there in no time.

After the top 5, I'd like to point out one more blog element important for making money online:

ADVERTISE - If you think your blog is ready for direct advertising, then you should have an "advertise on this blog" page. Remember to focus on the advertiser directly - after all, you are writing the page for him, not for your readers ;) If a potential advertiser visits your blog, you have to be ready for him. Describe why should he advertise on your blog, try to tell the advertiser what benefits will he have by advertising on your blog.

If you have a blog and you don't have one of those elements, then I strongly recommend that you add the ones that your blog is missing.

SEO Series Batch 5 - Title Tags - Top Rankings

SEO Series continues, today's topic are title tags and post title optimization. I have talked earlier about post title optimization where we focused on title optimization as a key factor for getting top positions in Google.

With the phrase "post title optimization" MakeMoneyWithKassper currently holds number 1 position in Google from 2.340.000 search results. That is a living proof that it is indeed one the most important factors for getting those top results.

When deciding on the post title tags, you have to focus on the following:

1. Focus on your readers - they are the reason you are posting in the first place so you should always chose the title to make it interesting for your readers.

2. Focus On The Content - meaning that you should stick with your topic and try to be as descriptive as you can

3. Make Title Tags Memorable! - use title tags to make them eye catching and easy to remember. For example - my post is called "Get In The Google Top 10 - Post Title Optimization" - the phrase "get in the Google Top 10" is very eye catching and very memorable, but if the post was called just "Post Title Optimization" it wouldn't have had the same effect ;)

4. Try To Use Less Competitive Title Tags - don't try and get in the top 10 by choosing a phrase that is too competitive because you will get disappointed. Try to choose tags that are not so popular but still get a decent user search on the internet.

5. Use Capital Letters For Every Word In The Title - it's just not the same - for example "add categories to blogger" is not nearly as effective as "Add Categories To Blogger"

Try to take all of this into consideration when creating a title for your post. Your readers will start to notice it and they will come back. That's the general idea in the first place ;)

Make Money With Domain Parking

Anyone can can make money with domain parking. If you have registered domain name(s) that you own and don't use, then you should definitely try domain parking. The more unused domains you have - the more money you can make with them.

Domain parking is a way to make money with domain's natural traffic. You can make money with them without even lifting a finger!

When you park a domain name, the domain is used to display relevant ads and every time a visitor clicks on one of the ads - you make money!

How can I park my domain name?

1. find a domain name parking service on the internet. Here are my favorites: GoDaddy, Sedo Parking

2. after you have created an account with them, you have to redirect the domain to their servers - you can find out the names of the servers on their "redirect domains" page.

3. contact your domain registrar and inform them that you want to move your domain to another server. Send them the server names and they will redirect the domain for you.

I have several of my domains parked with SEDO and you can see an example of how it looks when you park a domain - here are my "H" domains ;) Homebox.biz, Hotels-America.net

When you park your domain, be sure you optimize its layout and its keywords for search. You can do all of that with your parking service provider. ;)

Pay Per Post - Monetization Can Begin

I got an e-mail from Pay Per Post yesterday about my post "I Signed Up For PPP". I was somewhat surprised to hear from them so soon because it usually takes them more than a month for the post to get reviewed and approved.

I'm not complaining though, the opportunity to be paid for posting sounds great and from now on is available to this blog.

I will be taking them on for some of the available opportunities, but I'll try to choose the ones that are somehow related to money making niche.

Another thing I like about PPP are the PPP tools they have for their bloggers. PPP tools include:

I especially like the "referral program" with which I have already earned a decent amount. Here's a screen capture of my pending referrals and earnings from PPP referral program (if someone recognizes herself/himself - congratulations - you're on a good way to to start making money online!!)

As you can see, from 47 hits I have 8 referrals. That's a pretty conversion rate - every 6th visitor that clicks on the PPP banner signs up with the program. This is thanks to targeted traffic, but that's another topic (we'll get to that in the near future...)

So, you have here a proof that PPP is a very good program for making money online. You just have to sign up for it, the earnings will come soon after that... ;)

Add A Sitemap To Blogger

As I mentioned in my earlier post, here are step by step instructions on how to add a sitemap to blogger:

First you need to add your site to the google webmaster tools and verify it.

1. Log in to your Google Webmaster Account

2. Add your url and you will get a message that you have added a site to your account.

3. Now click on the verify link. You need to verify your account to enable access to site statistics.

4. Verify the link using the META tag that Google generates for you and copy/paste it just under the first BODY tag of your HTML.

5. When you have pasted the META tag, return to google webmaster tools account and check the box saying "I have added the META tag to my homepage... You have now only confirmed that you own the site.


Now you have to add the sitemap itself.

Since there is no possible way to add a text file to your blogger account, you have to use your site's feed as a sitemap. So, here is how you do it:

6. Click "add sitemap" and you'll be taken to this window:

7. Simply add the extension atom.xml to your url (which you've set up earlier in your Feed Burner account) and click "Add Web Sitemap"

And that's it. You have now added a sitemap to your blogger account. ;)
